Marc Hauser on Morality

Marc Hauser is a Harvard Biologist who is best known for his work on the origins of morality in animals. He famously produced a series of moral dilemmas involving a runaway train (which I previously posted here).

In these clips he answers a number of questions about morality in humans.

1. If we have a moral instinct, why did it evolve? What are the advantages?

2. Where do most people get their ideas of right and wrong?

3. Is there a genetic element to morality?

4. Are we still evolving? If so, is our moral instinct evolving as well?
